Fantasy Romance Series 'The Remarried Empress' Premieres in November

The much-anticipated series 'The Remarried Empress' is set to debut on November 4. Based on a popular web novel, the show presents a captivating blend of fantasy and romance, focusing on the character of Empress Navier, portrayed by Shin Min Ah.

The narrative revolves around Navier, who is the beloved empress of the Eastern Empire. Her life takes a dramatic turn when her husband, Emperor Sovieshu, played by Ju Ji Hoon, betrays her by falling for Rashta, a runaway slave portrayed by Lee Se Young. This infidelity leads to a divorce that forever alters the course of Navier’s life.

Following the breakup, Navier accepts a proposal to marry Crown Prince Heinrey of the Western Empire, a role played by Lee Jong Suk. This union promises to create tension not only within the royal family but also in the political landscape of the empires involved.

On August 26, the series announced its premiere date along with character posters and a teaser trailer. The teaser highlights the passionate connection that originally existed between Navier and Sovieshu, as well as the gradual deterioration of their relationship. Despite his assurances that she is his one true love, Sovieshu becomes increasingly enamoured with Rashta.

The teaser further showcases Navier's stoic response as she declares, “I never imagined this would happen to me,” signifying her emotional struggle amidst the upheaval. With the introduction of Heinrey, who confidently states, “It is an honour to meet you, My Queen,” the storyline shifts towards themes of empowerment and resilience.

New character posters have been released, giving insight into their individual arcs. Empress Navier boldly asserts her intentions with the statement, “I request an approval of my remarriage.” Meanwhile, Emperor Sovieshu’s poster captures his internal conflict as he demands a divorce from Navier. Rashta’s position is highlighted with the phrase, “Rashta is so happy these days!” suggesting a pivotal moment in her narrative.

The series consists of ten episodes, with a launch strategy that involves releasing four episodes on November 4, followed by two episodes weekly until the season concludes on November 25. Notably, 'The Remarried Empress' is part of the expanding roster of Korean originals available on streaming platforms Disney+ and Hulu.

The show will also have its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival in October, where three episodes will be showcased as part of the festival's On Screen selection.
