China, Cambodia, and Thailand Discuss Regional Stability at Meeting
Foreign ministers and senior military officials from China, Cambodia, and Thailand convened by Fuxian Lake in Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, from December 28 to 29, 2025. This meeting aimed to strengthen diplomatic relations and enhance regional stability following a series of border tensions between Cambodia and Thailand.
During the discussions, the representatives expressed their commitment to the Joint Statement issued after the 3rd Special General Border Committee Meeting held on December 27, 2025. This statement, welcomed by the Chinese officials, was noted as a positive step towards ensuring peace and stability in the region. It also highlighted the importance of dialogue and negotiation in resolving complex disputes.

Consolidation of Ceasefire: The immediate goal for the three nations is to reinforce the ceasefire and ensure the effective implementation of the Joint Statement. China has vowed to support Cambodia and Thailand in their mutual commitment to achieving a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire, which is seen as crucial for rebuilding peace in the region. Additionally, China expressed readiness to assist with humanitarian de-mining efforts in the border areas.

Resumption of Normal Exchanges: The participating nations agreed on the necessity of restoring normal communication and exchanges across all sectors. They also agreed to enhance cooperation against transnational crimes, including online scams, to protect the region's citizens.
The Cambodian and Thai officials expressed gratitude for China's ongoing support in facilitating dialogue between their countries. In light of the Anning Outcome, China pledged to continue playing a constructive role in fostering trust and achieving lasting peace in accordance with regional customs and practices, striving towards building a community with a shared future with neighbouring nations.
