CCTV Footage Reveals Stabbing Incident in Ghaziabad
A recent stabbing case in Ghaziabad involving a gym trainer and his lover raises serious questions about domestic violence and security.

In Ghaziabad, India, a stabbing incident involving a man, Shashank Kantharia, has been captured on CCTV, revealing alarming details about the attack. The footage shows Shashank's wife, Priya Sharma, leaving their home early in the morning on 26 October before her lover, Pratap Singh, entered the residence.

As per police reports, Shashank was assaulted while sleeping at his rented flat in the Jagriti Resident Welfare Association Society located in Vasundhara Sector 1. CCTV images depict Priya exiting her home at 5:17 am, seemingly heading to a local gym. Approximately three minutes later, Pratap Singh is recorded walking towards the property, leading to a sequence of violent events.

According to the authorities, Pratap allegedly stabbed Shashank while he was still asleep. Subsequent footage shows Pratap fleeing the apartment shortly after the attack, even as concerned neighbours began to investigate the unusual activity.

By 5:43 am, several onlookers had congregated outside the flat, and a vehicle was dispatched to transport the injured Shashank to Yashoda Medicity hospital for urgent medical attention. Both Priya and Pratap have been arrested following the incident, with the implement used in the attack recovered based on their confessions. The police have initiated charges against them for attempted murder and criminal conspiracy.

The police revealed that Priya had been frequenting a gym known as Fitness Headquarters for the past seven to eight months, where Pratap worked as a trainer. Authorities suggest that a romantic relationship developed between the two during this time, ultimately leading to the conspiracy to murder Shashank, as he had recently discovered their affair. Reports indicate he planned to move to a new flat following the Diwali festivities, adding urgency to their scheme.

On the morning of the attack, Priya reportedly left the gate open to facilitate Pratap's entrance into her home. After the assault, Pratap's hasty exit attracted the attention of neighbours, some of whom pursued him.

As this case unfolds, it raises significant concerns about domestic violence and the measures being taken to protect individuals in at-risk relationships. From the available evidence, it is clear that this incident serves as a tragic case study of the potential intersections of love, betrayal, and violence in modern society.
