Traffic Changes Ahead of Diljit Dosanjh Concert in Delhi
Traffic restrictions will be enforced on numerous roads surrounding Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi for the upcoming concert of singer Diljit Dosanjh on Friday, October 30. The diversions will be in effect from 1 PM until midnight.
The Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to avoid the affected areas if possible and to organise their journeys in advance. This concert is part of Dosanjh's Aura India Tour 2026, taking place in Lodhi Colony.
A traffic advisory released by the Delhi Traffic Police on social media platform X indicates that several key roads and intersections in the vicinity will be impacted, with designated diversions introduced to manage vehicle movement.
Commuters may encounter restrictions and diversions on multiple routes, including Bhishma Pitamah Marg, Lodhi Road, and Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, particularly between the Defence Colony Flyover and the Lodhi Colony Flyover.
Other affected areas encompass Arch Bishop Marg, Fourth Avenue Road, and Fifth Avenue Road. Furthermore, internal roads of the Central Government Officers Complex (CGO), roads adjacent to JLN Stadium, and sections of the Barapullah Flyover between INA and Jangpura Metro Station Gate No. 2 are likely to experience disruptions.
The Delhi Traffic Police has pinpointed specific diversion points at crucial intersections such as the Lodhi Road-Dayal Singh College Road T-junction and the Lala Lajpat Rai Marg-JLN Stadium Marg junction. Further diversions may be established near Kotla Mubarakpur and the Bhishma Pitamah Marg-Lodhi Road intersection, contingent on real-time traffic conditions.
Concert attendees are encouraged to utilise public transport, particularly the Delhi Metro, to reach the venue. Metro services will continue to operate without interruption. Passengers on the Violet Line can disembark at either JLN Stadium or Jangpura Metro stations. Those travelling on the Yellow Line can get off at INA or Jor Bagh, from where taxis or other rides can be taken to designated drop-off points near the venue.
Parking facilities will not be available for the general public around the stadium. According to the traffic advisory, limited parking at Sunehri Pula Bus Depot and Dayal Singh College will be allocated for select invitees only. Taxis, auto-rickshaws, and rideshare services will be permitted to pick up and drop off passengers solely at specified locations. Roadside parking and halting will not be allowed.
The traffic advisory aims to ensure a smoother experience for both concertgoers and local residents amidst anticipated congestion during this high-profile event.
