Bengaluru Police Investigate Incident at Shilpa Shetty's Nightclub
Bengaluru police have initiated an inquiry after footage of a late-night disturbance at a pub owned by Indian actor Shilpa Shetty circulated widely on social media. This incident took place at Bastian pub, located on St. Mark’s Road, in the early hours of December 11, 2025, around 1:30 am, as reported by NDTV.
The viral videos, reportedly sourced from the establishment's CCTV cameras, depict a heated exchange among patrons. The visuals show individuals engaged in raised-voice discussions, although no physical altercations are observed.
Shilpa Shetty, a prominent figure in Indian cinema, partnered with restaurateur Ranjit Bindra in 2019 to establish the Bastian brand. The pub has gained popularity in Bengaluru's nightlife scene.
Among those present during the incident was Satya Naidu, a businessman known for his previous participation in the reality television show Bigg Boss and his former marriage to a television presenter. Initial reports indicate that the disagreement stemmed from issues related to the settling of the bill, which subsequently escalated into an argument. Staff at the pub reportedly intervened to manage the situation.
In response to the unfolding events, Satya Naidu asserted that he had attended the pub for a dinner with friends and refuted claims of wrongdoing. "The issue arose while paying the bill, and there was no physical altercation," he stated, emphasising that the argument was verbal only.
The Central Division Deputy Commissioner of Police has confirmed the police's prompt response to the incident, revealing that they have taken suo motu cognisance of the matter. Authorities have summoned the individuals involved for questioning, while also reviewing CCTV footage and witness accounts. A case will be registered if any significant offences are identified during the investigation.
This incident follows a series of legal challenges faced by Shilpa Shetty. Recently, the Bombay High Court dismissed her plea to travel to the United States in connection with a fraud case involving ₹600 million (approximately £6 million). The court's ruling stated that she must address the financial obligations before being allowed to leave the country.
As the investigation continues, the focus remains on understanding the details surrounding the incident at Bastian pub and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken based on the findings.
