Baahubali: The Epic Box Office Performance Shows Significant Decline
SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Epic crosses ₹25 crore mark but faces a notable drop in box office collections after its opening weekend.

SS Rajamouli's latest film, Baahubali: The Epic, which premiered in theatres on October 31, 2025, has experienced a considerable decline in its box office collections following a successful opening weekend. The film, featuring prominent actors such as Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, and Tamannaah Bhatia, saw a significant decrease in audience turnout on its first Monday.

According to the trade website Sacnilk, Baahubali: The Epic earned an estimated ₹1.35 crore net in India on its first Monday, bringing its total domestic revenue to ₹25.7 crore. The film initially opened with strong numbers, generating ₹1.15 crore from preview screenings on Thursday and ₹9.65 crore on its first day of release. Over its first weekend, the film collected ₹7.25 crore on Saturday and ₹6.3 crore on Sunday, resulting in a total weekend collection of ₹24.35 crore in India and ₹39.75 crore globally.

While a decline in earnings is typical for films during weekdays, it remains uncertain whether Baahubali: The Epic will maintain its momentum throughout the week. The original Baahubali films set high benchmarks, with Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) earning ₹650 crore worldwide and its sequel, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), amassing an impressive ₹1788.06 crore.

Expectations were high for Baahubali: The Epic, especially with plans for an animated continuation titled Baahubali: The Eternal War, which has a production budget of ₹120 crore. It remains to be seen how this new project will perform at the box office.

About Baahubali: The Epic

Baahubali: The Epic is a collaborative effort between director S.S. Rajamouli and producer Sobhu Yarlagadda, merging both previous Baahubali films into a single feature. The film's runtime was adapted from over five hours to three hours and 44 minutes. During this remastering process, visual and audio enhancements were made, and some scenes were either trimmed or removed altogether. The film initially received a positive reception, with enthusiastic fans returning to cinemas to experience the saga on the big screen once again.
