India faces tough competition at the Asian Games 2026, with key matches in archery and hockey on Day 13.

India experienced a competitive day at the Asian Games 2026, with significant events in both archery and hockey. The Indian archery team faced China in the highly anticipated recurve mixed team final but settled for a silver medal after a closely fought match.

In the final, India’s Kumkum Mohod and Dhiraj Bommadevara showcased their skills, winning the third set against China and momentarily reviving hopes of gold. After trailing 2-4, they needed a strong performance to tie the contest. Despite finishing strongly, India ultimately lost the final 6-2.

The decisive moments included a crucial performance by China’s Zhu Jingyi and Li Mengqi, who maintained their composure under pressure. As the match concluded, China clinched the gold, while India could reflect on a commendable silver.

In the mixed team recurve event, India overcame Japan 5-3 in the semifinals to advance to the final. After a rocky start, the Indian duo exhibited resilience, leveraging their strengths to equalise and secure their place in the championship match. Mohod’s remarkable scoring in the semifinal was noted, as she delivered several high-scoring arrows to lift her team's performance.

South Korea won the bronze medal in the mixed team recurve event by defeating Japan 5-1, asserting their dominance in the competition.

In an exciting development, India secured its 11th gold medal at the games, triumphing in the women's recurve team final against South Korea. The team, which included Mohod alongside Ankita Bhakat and Kirti, delivered a remarkable performance, solidifying India's position in the medal tally with a total of 67 medals.

Continuing their competitive spirit, India’s men's volleyball team took an early lead in their classification match against South Korea, with wins in the first two sets. They are poised to secure another victory with just one set needed to clinch the match.

The Indian women's hockey team is on track to compete in the final against China, aiming not just for gold but also for a spot at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. This eagerly awaited match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm.

As Day 13 of the Asian Games unfolds at Aichi-Nagoya, India is scheduled to compete across various sports, including boxing and hockey, continuing to pursue medal opportunities across disciplines. The competition promises to be intense, with athletes eager to leave their mark in this prestigious event.
