Arrests Made in Tiger Shroff Firing Incident Linked to Gang
Authorities have arrested four individuals in connection with a shooting incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff that occurred in Mumbai. The arrests follow an incident on Sunday evening when assailants opened fire at Shroff's vehicle as he left the Pushpa Narsee Ground in Juhu.
Initial investigations revealed that the shooters originally intended to target fellow actor Salman Khan. According to sources in the Mumbai police, they had conducted reconnaissance at Khan's residence but ultimately opted for Shroff due to his lack of security arrangements. The actors' social media presence reportedly provided the assailants with information about Shroff's routine, making him a more accessible target.
The two shooters, identified as Phool Singh and Rehan Ansari, both 18 years old, along with 22-year-old Hrithik Kumar, have been apprehended in Kota, Rajasthan. Mumbai police stated the suspects would be transported back to Mumbai for further investigation, with plans to seek maximum custody during their court appearance.
Following the shooting, security has been increased around Salman Khan's residence, with additional barricades implemented as a precaution. Khan was observed at the Mumbai airport with several armed guards, showing heightened concern for his safety.
Police revealed that a social media post attributed to Anil Pandit, an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, boasted about the attack. The post indicated dissatisfaction with Shroff and threatened any in the film industry who do not comply with the gang, suggesting further action against others.
The Bishnoi gang has a history of targeting film personalities, with previous incidents involving threats and violence against other actors. The investigations continue as police dissect the motives and degree of coordination linked to this criminal network.
The origin of the gang's animosity towards Salman Khan dates back to an alleged incident in 1998, when the actor was accused of killing a blackbuck, a sacred animal in the Bishnoi community. The threat continues to loom large in the Bollywood industry, raising concerns about security and safety among high-profile figures. Authorities are determined to address these threats with a thorough investigation into the gang's activities and their intentions towards its targets.
