Apple Limits Stock for iPhone Duo on Launch Day Amid Demand
The iPhone Duo will be available from October 23, but walk-in stock will be limited in several regions due to high demand.

Apple's iPhone Duo is set to launch on Friday, October 23, 2026. However, customers hoping to purchase the device in person might face challenges, as the company has announced limited availability for walk-in buyers. The decision follows extraordinary demand seen during the pre-order period that began last week. Apple anticipates that supplies will sell out quickly across various locations globally.

Limited walk-in stock will be available in several countries including the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom, among others. Specific Apple Stores in Italy will have stock, although the company did not specify which locations. In Macao, walk-in sales will only occur on launch day and with strict inventory limits.

Contrastingly, regions such as France, China, and India will not permit walk-in purchases on launch day at all. Customers in these countries will need to reserve a time slot for pick-up through Apple's online store. However, reports indicate that customers may need to wait until October 24 to see if this reservation option will be available on launch day, creating uncertainty for potential buyers.

Apple has implemented restrictions on walk-in sales as a means to manage crowd sizes and deter scalpers. Additionally, the company has limited purchases to two per individual.

For those who pre-ordered the iPhone Duo, there is positive news, as many shipping dates have been expedited, which had originally extended to January.

The iPhone Duo features a 7.6-inch foldable LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1878 by 2670 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a 5.4-inch cover display at a resolution of 1398 by 2034, also supporting 120Hz. The device is powered by the A20 Pro chipset, equipped with 12GB of RAM, and offers up to 2TB of storage.

Photography capabilities include a 48MP main camera with sensor-shift optical image stabilisation, a 48MP ultrawide camera, and dual front-facing cameras, including a 12MP on the cover and a 4MP under-display on the internal screen. The iPhone Duo is backed by a 4,883 mAh battery supporting 25W wired charging as well as MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging.

With an IP68 rating and running on iOS 27.1, the starting prices for the iPhone Duo are set at $1,999 in the United States, €2,299 in Germany, and £1,999 in the United Kingdom.
