Akhil Akkineni's 'Lenin' Surpasses Previous Box Office Records
Akhil Akkineni, who made his film debut over a decade ago, is celebrating box-office success with his latest project, 'Lenin'. The Telugu drama has rapidly become Akkineni's highest-grossing film, achieving this in just four days after its release. The film surpassed the collections of the 2021 film 'Most Eligible Bachelor'.
Following its opening weekend, 'Lenin' reported a nearly 50% decrease in box-office collections by Monday, a common trend seen after a film's debut. Despite this drop, the film managed to secure a net collection of 29.05 crore Indian rupees in India, a figure that eclipsed the total earnings of 'Most Eligible Bachelor', which concluded its theatrical run with 29.01 crore.
On its fourth day of release, 'Lenin' collected 3.6 crore net in India, bringing its overall gross earnings to 33.7 crore. Furthermore, the film's worldwide gross collection now stands at 41.42 crore.
The significant initial success of 'Lenin' comes with the expectation that the film will continue to perform well in the coming days. To cover its production budget of 100 crore, it will need to sustain its box office performance, needing an additional 70 crore to reach a more secure financial position.
The film features Bhagyashri Borse alongside Akhil Akkineni, marking a significant role for her in a high-budget feature. Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, 'Lenin' is produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni under Manam Enterprises LLP, in collaboration with Sithara Entertainments, led by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi. The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of Rayalaseema, weaving a tale rife with familial and political challenges as the protagonist carves out his legacy.
As 'Lenin' aims for greater milestones, the film industry closely monitors its progress in the upcoming weeks.
