Akash Ambani Reflects on Jio's 10 Years of Digital Evolution
Akash Ambani highlights Jio's achievements and future vision as the company marks its tenth anniversary with enhanced service offerings.

As Reliance Jio celebrates a decade since its launch in September 2016, Chairman Akash Ambani has outlined the company's significant journey and ambitions for the future. Jio has evolved from a telecommunications provider to a key player in India's digital landscape.

Ambani emphasized that Jio was founded on the vision of making high-quality digital connectivity accessible to all Indians. This mission has resulted in more than 500 million subscribers, playing a pivotal role in building Digital India.

With plans marking its anniversary, Jio has launched a Mega Anniversary Offer that enhances its existing Rs 3,599 prepaid plan. This plan now includes 120GB of bonus data distributed over 12 months, providing 10GB of additional monthly data to subscribers. Over the course of the year, users can receive a total of 1,032.5GB of high-speed data, alongside streaming subscriptions to popular platforms such as JioTV and JioHotstar.

Jio's offer also features complimentary options like 50GB of cloud storage and an 18-month subscription to Google AI Pro, valued at Rs 35,100. The latter includes enhanced access to AI tools and significant cloud storage space, aiming to broaden users' digital capabilities.

In his address, Akash Ambani acknowledged the hard work of Jio’s employees, stating that their dedication has driven innovation and kept customer satisfaction at the forefront of the company's priorities. He remarked, “For me, this journey is personal in a way that is difficult to put into words,” crediting his beginnings in the company for shaping his professional life.

Looking forward, Ambani envisions Jio transitioning beyond conventional telecommunications into broader applications of technology. He noted that the focus would be on making technology accessible while seeking to enhance India’s role as a global technology creator.

Ambani believes that advancements in artificial intelligence will reshape industries and individual operations alike. He reiterated the commitment to continue prioritising user-friendly technology for a diverse audience.

As Jio enters this new phase, it aims to strengthen its resolve in innovation while expanding its technological horizons on an international scale, thus aspiring to maintain its reputation as a leader in India’s digital growth.
