Actor Trisha's Home Targeted by Bomb Hoax Investigation
Police conducted a search at the home of Indian actor Trisha Krishnan in Chennai after receiving a bomb threat via email. On 14 April 2026, the Teynampet Police, alongside the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), responded swiftly to the alert, which claimed explosives had been planted at her residence in Alwarpet.
The police found no evidence of any explosives after a thorough inspection, indicating that the threat was unfounded. This incident marks the second bomb threat directed toward Trisha within the last six months. The first occurrence in October 2025 also turned out to be a hoax.
As per reports, the control room of Tamil Nadu's Director General of Police was notified of this recent threat, which not only targeted Trisha's home but also mentioned the Bangladesh Deputy Consulate. In both instances, a detailed search was conducted, including the use of sniffer dogs to ensure safety.
This latest hoax follows a trend of similar incidents targeting high-profile personalities in the region, including well-known actors Rajinikanth and Dhanush. The police have noted an increase in threats against film and political figures since 2025, suggesting a deliberate targeting of celebrities within the Indian film industry.
Despite the alarming nature of the threat, Trisha appeared unshaken by the events. On social media, she continued to engage her followers, sharing moments of her life, including playful posts with her pet dog, Izzy. One post featured a humorous message regarding her pet's behaviour, further indicating her nonchalant attitude toward the situation. Trisha's recent updates not only reflect her resilience but also serve to reassure her fans amidst the unsettling events.
The Tamil Nadu police have emphasised their commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and have reiterated the importance of promptly handling such threats. Citizens are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. As this matter progresses, the police continue to investigate the source of the bomb threats, seeking to deter future incidents that disrupt the peace and security of individuals in the film industry.
