Royal Orchid Hotels has launched the Regenta Waterfront Resort in Dapoli, Maharashtra, expanding its regional presence with a scenic 75-room beachfront property.
Royal Orchid Hotels Limited has announced the opening of its newest property, the Regenta Waterfront Resort-Dapoli, in the coastal town of Dapoli in Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri district. The 75-room resort is the company’s first branded hotel in Dapoli and marks its 15th property in the state.

Located on a hilltop overlooking the Arabian Sea, the Regenta Waterfront Resort offers panoramic ocean views and direct access to the Dapoli shoreline. It is positioned as a premium retreat for leisure and business travellers, reflecting Royal Orchid’s strategy to promote lesser-known Indian destinations through upscale hospitality offerings.

Strategic Coastal Launch
The new resort includes a variety of rooms and suites equipped with modern amenities and scenic views. Guests can enjoy a range of dining experiences, including a full-service restaurant serving local and international cuisine, and a poolside bar. Recreational facilities include an infinity pool, a fully equipped fitness centre, and a spa.

For families, the resort offers a children’s play area, while corporate and private events can be hosted in the 4,000-square-foot ballroom and an additional 800-square-foot banquet space. Its location near popular tourist attractions—such as Murud Beach, Suvarndurg Fort, and Karde Beach—adds to its appeal as a base for sightseeing and leisure activities.

“Dapoli’s pristine beaches, historical monuments and tranquil atmosphere offer immense tourism potential,” said Arjun Baljee, President of Royal Orchid Hotels Ltd. “We are confident this resort will become a landmark destination, catering to the growing demand for premium ‘Bleisure’ destinations near metropolitan cities.”

Partnership and Cultural Emphasis
The project is a collaboration between Royal Orchid Hotels and Mr Ahmad Makani, who emphasised the potential of Dapoli as a rising destination for both domestic and international travellers.

“We are excited to partner with a renowned brand like ROHL, known for its longstanding legacy and signature hospitality,” Mr Makani said. “This collaboration is poised to set new benchmarks in the industry by delivering a distinctive guest experience.”

The development also aligns with the Indian government’s “Swadesh Darshan” initiative, which promotes tourism infrastructure in lesser-explored destinations across the country.

Highlighting India's Coastal Offerings
Dapoli, located along the Konkan coast and nestled within the Western Ghats, has long been considered a hidden gem among Maharashtra’s coastal regions. Known for its unspoilt beaches, historic sea forts, and natural beauty, the town is gaining visibility as an attractive weekend getaway for residents of Mumbai and Pune.

The launch of the Regenta Waterfront Resort is part of Royal Orchid Hotels’ broader plan to invest in tourism infrastructure across India’s emerging travel markets. The company aims to meet increasing demand from both leisure and business travellers seeking upscale accommodation in offbeat locations.

India’s Tourism Growth and Regional Expansion
India’s hospitality sector has seen renewed interest in regional expansion following the COVID-19 pandemic, with travellers increasingly opting for destinations closer to nature. Coastal towns such as Dapoli offer a mix of scenic beauty and cultural heritage, attracting tourists interested in wellness, history, and outdoor recreation.

The Regenta Waterfront Resort-Dapoli adds to Royal Orchid Hotels’ growing portfolio of properties across India. With this launch, the group continues to focus on promoting lesser-known destinations, supporting local economies, and contributing to the diversification of India’s tourism landscape.
