Through IEW, India offers the world a template for balancing the dual challenges of energy security and energy transition
India Energy Week (IEW) 2024, set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Goa on February 6, 2024, is emerging as a significant event on the global energy calendar, bringing together key figures from the energy sector to deliberate on the future of energy. 
 
This year's edition is especially significant as it will be addressed by energy ministers from Libya, Sudan, Ghana, Nigeria, Djibouti, Sri Lanka, and other energy-producing nations, alongside key decision-makers in the oil and gas market.
 
The presence of the Secretary-General of OPEC, Haithan Al Ghais, embodies the event's importance in shaping global energy policies. 
 
According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), achieving 'Aatmanirbharta' (self-reliance) in energy requirements has been a key focus area.
 
The India Energy Week 2024 being held from February 6-9, 2024, will be India’s largest and only all-encompassing energy exhibition and conference, bringing together the entire energy value chain, and will serve as a catalyst for India's energy transition goals. As part of the event, Prime Minister Modi will hold a roundtable with Global oil & gas CEOs and experts.
 
Organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, IEW 2024 aims to foster discussions on energy transition, sustainability, and the future of the energy sector. 
 
Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas & Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri will be chairing multiple conferences and sessions at IEW.
 
The event is structured to offer a comprehensive view of the global energy scenario, featuring strategic conferences with global decision-makers, ministerial panels, leadership discussions, and sessions on innovative energy solutions.
 
Topics such as "India’s Oil Market 2030," "Energy supply chain of the future," and "Ensuring energy security for nations and industry in a VUCA world" are among the highlights, reflecting the event's focus on addressing current challenges and identifying future opportunities in the energy sector.
 
IEW 2024 will serve as a catalyst for collaboration and knowledge exchange among over 35,000 attendees, including more than 350 exhibitors and 4,000-plus delegates from over 100 countries. Additionally, it will have six dedicated country pavilions - Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, UK and USA. A special Make in India Pavilion is also being organised to showcase innovative solutions which Indian MSMEs are spearheading in the energy sector.
 
The event promises to be a dynamic platform for sharing ideas, exploring opportunities, and showcasing innovations across the energy spectrum, from traditional oil field services to renewable and alternative fuel technologies.
