EAM S Jaishankar will also visit Namibia
EAM Jaishankar will visit South Africa from June 1-3, 2023, to participate in the BRICS Foreign Ministers Meeting in Capetown. He will subsequently visit Namibia.

In addition to attending the BRICS meeting, he will have a bilateral meeting with his South African counterpart Naledi Pandor, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Wednesday (May 31, 2023).

During the visit, EAM Jaishankar will call on the President of South Africa and is expected to hold bilateral meetings with other BRICS Foreign Ministers and participating ‘Friends of BRICS’ Ministers from other countries. He will also have an interaction with the Indian Diaspora in Capetown, the MEA said.

After South Africa, EAM Jaishankar will visit Namibia from June 4 to 6, making it the first time an Indian External Affairs Minister has visited the Republic of Namibia.

While in Namibia, he will co-chair the inaugural session of the Joint Commission Meeting with the Namibian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah. He will also interact with the Indian Diaspora based in the country.

According to the MEA, EAM Jaishankar's visit to South Africa and Namibia is expected to further strengthen India’s strong bilateral relations with these two countries.
