With the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh conducting a successful trial run using drones to transport anti-TB drugs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described it as an example of leveraging technology for ease of living.

In the successful trial run on Thursday, a drone transportated a 2-kg load of TB medicines from AIIMS Rishikesh to District Hospital in Tehri Garhwal, covering an aerial distance of approximately 40 km in just 30 minutes.

In a significant move, AIIMS Rishikesh conducted a trial run today-drones used to transport 2 kg load of TB medicines from @aiimsrishi's to District Hospital,Tehri Garhwal covering approx. 40 km aerial distance (one side) in 30 min," the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare tweeted.

Quoting this tweet, Prime Minister Modi wrote on Friday, "India attaches great importance to leveraging technology to further ‘Ease of Living’ for people".
