NIA Arrests Four Additional Suspects in Delhi Red Fort Blast Case
Four more individuals have been apprehended in connection with the November 10 blast near Delhi's Red Fort, raising total arrests to six.

In a significant development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India announced the arrest of four more individuals linked to the deadly blast that occurred near the Red Fort in Delhi on November 10. This incident resulted in the deaths of at least 15 people and left numerous others injured. With these latest arrests, the total number of apprehensions in this case has reached six.

The four newly arrested suspects have been identified as Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai from Pulwama, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather from Anantnag, and Dr Shaheen Saeed from Lucknow, all of whom are medical professionals, alongside Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay, a religious preacher from Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir. The NIA described these individuals as having played crucial roles in the planning and execution of the terrorist attack.

The District Sessions Judge of the Patiala House Court in Delhi granted the NIA custody of these suspects, allowing the agency to conduct further investigations. The NIA took the four individuals into custody in Srinagar as part of their ongoing efforts to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy behind the blast.

The agency's investigation into the incident began shortly after the attack, with the NIA officially taking over the case on November 11. Prior to these arrests, two suspects, Amir Rashid Ali and Jasir Bilal Wani (also known as Danish), had already been detained. Ali was identified through evidence linking him to Dr Umar-un-Nabi, who drove the explosives-laden vehicle that detonated during the attack. Wani, meanwhile, was reportedly approached by Nabi to act as a suicide bomber, a proposition he declined but was allegedly willing to support the banned militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed as an overground worker.

The NIA's investigation has indicated that these individuals are part of a purported 'white collar' terror module, which was reportedly dismantled by police forces from Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. A significant lead was uncovered during the investigation when authorities discovered 2,900 kg of explosives at Al Falah University in Faridabad, which is believed to be linked to the suspects.

The NIA continues to explore various angles of the case in an effort to fully unravel the conspiracy surrounding the blast near the Red Fort. This incident has raised security concerns in the national capital, prompting authorities to enhance protective measures in sensitive areas.

The ongoing efforts of the NIA and local police forces demonstrate a determined response to terrorism in India, as they work to bring those responsible for the attack to justice.

As investigations proceed, officials urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. The NIA has not disclosed further details about the suspects or the investigation at this stage but assures the public that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure security and safety in the region.
