Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Reports 26% Profit Increase in Q2 FY26
Apollo Hospitals announces a 26% rise in net profit for Q2 FY26, driven by growth in healthcare services and digital health initiatives.

Chennai: Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited has reported a significant increase in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) for the second quarter of the financial year 2026, revealing a growth of 26%. The company's PAT reached ₹477 crore for the quarter ending on September 30, 2025, up from ₹379 crore during the same period last year. This growth is attributed to a robust performance across various segments of the healthcare services offered by the company.

Consolidated revenue for Apollo Hospitals rose by 13% to ₹6,304 crore in Q2 FY26, compared to ₹5,589 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) also experienced a 15% increase, reaching ₹941 crore, up from ₹816 crore in the prior year.

Krishnan Akhileswaran, Group Chief Financial Officer of Apollo Hospitals, highlighted the company's improved operational efficiency, noting that operating cash losses in the recent quarter decreased to approximately ₹40 crore, down from ₹80 crore in Q2 FY25. “We observed strong growth in both HealthCo, encompassing digital health and pharmacy distribution, and AHLL, which focuses on diagnostics and retail health,” Akhileswaran stated during a virtual press briefing.

Revenue growth was particularly notable in specialty areas, with segments including cardiology, oncology, neurosciences, gastroenterology, and orthopaedics reporting a 14% increase. Akhileswaran also mentioned the company’s plans to expand its bed capacity from the current 9,000 to 11,000 by the end of the next financial year (FY27).

Madhu Sasidhar, President and Chief Executive Officer of Apollo Hospitals, announced the addition of 310 new beds in facilities located in Pune and Delhi, with Pune accounting for 250 of these new beds. “Both facilities are equipped with highly skilled clinical staff. We aim to add two more units within this fiscal year,” Sasidhar added.

The company's diagnostics and retail health division saw the highest revenue growth rate at 17%, climbing from ₹404 crore in Q2 FY25 to ₹474 crore in the current quarter, primarily driven by advancements in diagnostics services. Overall, the revenue from healthcare services increased by 9%, growing from ₹2,903 crore to ₹3,169 crore.

In terms of patient care metrics, the Average Revenue Per Patient for Inpatients (ARPP-IP) rose by 9%, reaching ₹173,318 in Q2 FY26 compared to ₹159,379 in the previous year. The company noted that the previous year's quarter had a higher incidence of seasonal medical admissions, which created a challenging comparison for growth this quarter.

During the quarter, Apollo Hospitals also expanded its retail presence by adding 186 stores, pushing the total number to 6,928. In the first half of FY26, the company opened 302 new stores. The app Apollo 24/7 reported a gross merchant value of ₹723 crore in Q2 FY26, marking a year-on-year growth of 16%. Online pharmaceutical transactions also rose by 30% compared to the previous year.

As Apollo Hospitals continues to innovate and expand its services, it is positioning itself as a leading healthcare provider in India, meeting the increasing demand for quality healthcare and digital health solutions.
