As close neighbors, India and Nepal share wide-ranging & multi-sectoral cooperation

Three thousand tents and 10 motor inflatable boats were among consignments of flood and disaster-relief material handed over by India to Nepal on Friday.

"As part of our continued commitment to support disaster relief efforts of Nepal, Shri Naveen Srivastava, Ambassador of India to Nepal, handed over consignments of flood and disaster-relief material to Mr. Bal Krishna Khand, Hon'ble Home Minister, Government of Nepal, in a ceremony held at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Singhdurbar, Kathmandu today," the Indian Embassy in Nepal said.

The relief material includes 3000 tents (big/family) and 10 motor inflatable boats, the Embassy added.

Speaking during the event, Ambassador Srivastava expressed the hope that this timely supply of relief material would be optimally utilized by concerned agencies to ensure its maximum benefit by timely distribution and efficient utilization.

Nepal's Home Minister thanked the Government of India for the timely delivery of the relief material and appreciated ongoing disaster relief-related cooperation between India and Nepal.
