Special offices have been established in 180 universities for international affairs, PM Modi said

India can emerge as a big centre of global education, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday.

Speaking while inaugurating the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam on implementation of the National Education Policy in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, he said guidelines have been issued to prepare Indian higher education as per international standards.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi said that special offices have been established in 180 universities for international affairs of the institutions. He also asked the experts to be aware of the international practices in the field.

The Prime Minister stated that India's educational system and young people carry a large role in realizing the commitments of the "Amrit Kaal."

Prime Minister Modi pointed out that the education system established by the British was never a part of Indian culture, even though there was never a shortage of "intellect and talent" in the nation. He also emphasized the multifaceted nature of the Indian educational philosophy and requested that the present Indian educational system reflect such features.

He highlighted that the new systems and contemporary procedures are essential for building a "New India" and claimed that what was once unimaginable is now a reality. He further said that women are increasingly exhibiting their skills in fields that were previously off-limits to them.

He also said that the nation's youth should be skilled, confident, and practical and that education policy is laying the foundation for this. Furthermore, he went on to say that the National Education Policy has provided a means to realize countless opportunities.
