It seeks to increase collaboration among SCO member states' young people

The Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Tuesday briefed on the agreement between the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states on cooperation in the field of youth work among the authorized bodies of the SCO member states.

The agreement was signed by the Indian Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports following the approval of the agreement on September 17, 2021 by the member nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), an official release issued after the Cabinet meeting said.

Strengthening collaboration in the sphere of work with youth and public youth organizations executing state youth policy, as well as supporting initiatives aimed at improving international youth cooperation, are some of the areas of cooperation.

Training of professional employees in the field of youth work is also included in the areas of collaboration. It also consists of the exchange of scientific, reference, and methodological resources as well as a state agency and young public organization work experience.

The cooperation also emphasizes other organizations and associations involved in state youth policy implementation and support of youth initiatives.

Supporting the operations of the SCO Youth Council, the cooperation promotes cooperative economic and humanitarian efforts directed at involving youth in entrepreneurship and creative projects to boost their employment and well-being.

The agreement's goal is to increase mutual trust, cordial ties, and collaboration among SCO member states' young people, the release said.
