External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday met with Argentinian Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero and discussed expanding bilateral trade and cooperating in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, electronics, e-mobility, defence and atomic energy.

In his tweet the EAM further said that the two ministers discussed expanding bilateral trade, cooperating in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, electronics, e-mobility, defence and atomic energy and India and Argentina will work closely in G20 and multilateral forums
“A productive meeting with FM @SantiagoCafiero of Argentina on his first visit to India. Discussed expanding our bilateral trade and cooperating in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, electronics, e-mobility, defence & atomic energy. Will work closely in G20 and multilateral forums,” he tweeted.
India and Argentina in November last year had held the 6th Round of Foreign Office Consultations and had reviewed the multifaceted relations between the two countries.
They had resolved to broaden ongoing bilateral ties in areas of mutual interest including defence, space, nuclear energy, health and pharma, agriculture and science and technology.
It may be recalled that India-Argentina relations were elevated to the level of Strategic Partnership during the state visit to India of the President of Argentina in February 2019.
Multi-faceted relations between the two countries have strengthened over the years and encompass political, economic, cultural and scientific and technological cooperation, the MEA said.
