India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has now exceeded 115.79 crore doses

More than 129 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been provided to states and Union Territories (UTs), the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Saturday.

Releasing the latest data, the ministry said
1,29,90,13,890 doses of Covid-19 vaccine doses had been provided so far through the Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category.

Of these, over 21.65 crore (21,65,12,036) balance and unutilized Covid-19 vaccine doses were still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry added.

At the same time, with the administration of 51,59,931 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has now exceeded 115.79 crore doses (1,15,79,69,274).

The figure is as per provisional reports till 7 am today, the heath ministry said.

Releasing the latest Covid-19 numbers, the ministry said the recovery of 11,787 patients in the last 24 hours had increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,39,09,708.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.29%.

With 10,302 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours, States and UTs continued the trend of less than 50,000 Daily New Cases that is being reported for 146 consecutive days now.

The Active Caseload of Covid-19 stands at 1,24,868. The Active Cases now constitute 0.36% of the country's total Positive Cases, which is lowest since March 2020.

The last 24 hours saw10,72,863 tests being conducted, taking the number of tests conducted so far to over 63.05 crore cumulative tests.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 0.93% has remained less than 2% for the last 57 days now.

The Daily Positivity Rate, which is reported to be 0.96%, has remained below 2% for last 47 days and below 3% for 82 consecutive days now.
