India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has meanwhile exceeded 960 million

India reported 14,313 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours - the lowest recorded daily new cases in 224 days.

With this, the trend of less than 50,000 Daily New Cases being reported has continued for 107 consecutive days now, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, 96 crore (960 million) vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far.

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya took to Twitter to announce this.

"India is rapidly moving towards 100 crore vaccination

96 crore vaccine doses administered so far in our fight against coronavirus.

Double our efforts to achieve the nation's vaccine century. Get vaccinated and encourage others to do the same!" he said.

The health ministry had earlier said that the figure stood at 95,89,78,049 doses as per provisional reports till 7 am on Tuesday. This had been achieved through 93,66,392 sessions,.it added.

At the same time, the recovery of 26,579 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,33,20,057.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.04%. The Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020, the health ministry said.

The Active Caseload is currently 2,14,900, which is the lowest in 212 days. Active Cases now constitute 0.63% of the country's total Positive Cases.

The last 24 hours saw 11,81,766 tests being conducted, taking the cumulative number over 58.50 crore (58,50,38,043) tests.

The health ministry pointed out that the Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.48% has remained less than 3% for the last 109 days now.

The Daily Positivity Rate is reported to be 1.21%. The Daily Positivity rate has remained below3% for last 43 days and below 5% for 126 consecutive days now.
