More than 6 million doses were administered in the last 24 hours, according to the union health ministry

India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage has crossed the 59 crore (590 million) landmark.

With the administration of 61,90,930 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 59.55 crore (59,55,04,593), as per provisional reports till 7 am on Wednesday.

Releasing the latest data, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said this has been achieved through 65,52,748 sessions.

Meanwhile, states and Union Territories UTs) have continued the trend of less than 50,000 Daily New Cases that is being reported for 59 consecutive days now.

The last 24 hours saw 37,593 new cases being reported; 34,169 patients recovered during the same period. This has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic to 3,17,54,281.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.67%, the health ministry pointed out.

The Active Caseload is presently 3,22,327. At 0.99%, Active cases currently form less than 1% of the country's total Positive Cases.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 17,92,755 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 51.11 Cr (51,11,84,547) cumulative tests.

According to the health ministry, the Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.92% remains less than 3% for the last 61 days now.

The Daily Positivity rate stands at 2.10%. It has remained below 3% for the last 30 days and below 5% for 79 consecutive days now.
