The country reported 38,628 daily new cases in last 24 hours

Given to the Union Government accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination in the country, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage achieved a significant milestone of crossing 50 Crores on Saturday.

Cumulatively, 50,10,09,609 vaccine doses have been administered through 58,08,344 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on Saturday. A total of 49,55,138 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

Since the new phase of universalization of the COVID-19 vaccination that commenced on 21 June, the vaccination drive has been ramped up through availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.

Out of the people infected since the beginning of the pandemic 3,10,55,861 have recovered across the country so far of COVID-19 and 40,017 patients recovered during the last 24 hours. This constitutes a recovery rate at 97.37 percent.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the country reported 38,628 daily new cases in the last 24 hours and less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported since 41 consecutive days.

This is a result of sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs.

India's Active caseload today stands at 4,12,153 active cases and now constitute 1.29% of the country’s total positive cases.

With the testing capacity of the country substantially ramped up with 47.83 Crore tests conducted so far, the Weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.39%.

Also, the Daily positivity rate has also been less than 3% for 12 consecutive days, currently at 2.39%.
