PM Modi lauds PV Sindhu, hockey teams’ wins among several happenings ahead of Amrit Mahotsav celebrations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he is optimistic that 130 crore Indians will continue to work hard to ensure India reaches new heights as it celebrates its Amrit Mahotsav.

In a series of tweets, the Prime Minister said: “As India enters August, which marks the beginning of the Amrit Mahotsav, we have seen multiple happenings which are heartening to every Indian. There has been record vaccination and the high GST numbers also signal robust economic activity.”

“Not only has PV Sindhu won a well-deserved medal, but also we saw historic efforts by the men’s and women’s hockey teams at the Olympics. I’m optimistic that 130 crore Indians will continue to work hard to ensure India reaches new heights as it celebrates its Amrut Mahotsav,” the Prime Minister added.

On March 12, addressing a gathering at Sabarmati Ashram, after paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said the launch of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ 75 weeks before August 15,2022 will continue till August 15, 2023.

In that speech, he had reiterated five pillars ie Freedom Struggle, Ideas at 75, Achievement at 75, Actions at 75 and Resolved at 75 as guiding force for moving forward keeping dreams and duties as inspiration

He had also asserted that Azadi Amrit Mahotsav means elixir of energy of independence; it means elixir of inspirations of the warriors of freedom struggle; elixir of new ideas and pledges and nectar of Atma Nirbharta.
