India’s daily recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 36th consecutive day now

Continuing with the sustained slide in the daily new COVID-19 cases, the country has registered 62,480 new cases in the last 24 hours. Less than 1 lakh cases have been reported for 11 continuous days.

India has been witnessing a fall in the active caseload. The country’s active caseload on Friday was 7,98,656. This is the lowest after 72 days.

As more people are recovering from the COVID-19 infection, India’s daily recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 36th consecutive day now. 88,977 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.

Owing to the increase in the number of recoveries, the country’s recovery rate is as high as 96.03 percent.

The weekly Positivity Rate has continued to remain below 5 percent. It is currently at 3.80 percent.

Even, the daily positive rate has also remained at less than 5 percent for the 11th consecutive day. It was 3.24 percent on Friday.

The country has also ramped up the testing capacity with a total of 38.71 crore tests conducted so far.

With sustained efforts by the Centre to support States and Union Territories towards implementation of the Liberalised and Accelerated Phase-3 Strategy of Covid-19 vaccination, a total number of 26.89 crore vaccine doses were administered in the country as of Friday.

It may be recalled that the implementation of the Liberalized and Accelerated Phase-3 Strategy of Covid-19 Vaccination has started from 1st May 2021.
