The number of new cases recorded during the same 24-hour period was 3.11 lakh

With 3,62,437 Covid-19 recoveries registered in the last 24 hours, India's cumulative recoveries have reached 2,07,95,335 and the National Recovery Rate now stands at 84.25 per cent.

The figure for recoveries has outnumbered India’s daily new Covid-19 cases for the fifth time in the last six days.

The number of recoveries was more than the number of new cases - 3,11,170 - recorded during the same period, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said, referring to data updated till Sunday morning.

On the other hand, India’s total Active Caseload has decreased to 36,18,458 today and now comprises 14.66% of the country's total Positive Cases.

A net decline of 55,344 cases has been recorded in the active caseload in the last 24 hours, the ministry said, adding that 10 States cumulatively account for 74.69% of India’s total Active Cases.

Health ministry data also shows a declining trend in the positivity rate, which now stands at 16.98 per cent.

The National Mortality Rate currently stands at 1.09 per cent; 4,077 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

Ten states account for 75.5 per cent of the new deaths.

Maharashtra saw the maximum casualties in the past 24 hours with 960 deaths. Karnataka follows with 349 daily deaths.
