The number of new cases registered in the last 24 hours stands at 3,43,144

At 3,44,776, India's Covid-19 recoveries in the last 24 hours have outnumbered India’s daily new cases for the third time in the last four days.

With this, India’s cumulative recoveries have surpassed 2 crore (20 million) and now stand at 2,00,79,599. The National Recovery Rate is 83.50%.

The number of new cases registered in the last 24 hours stands at 3,43,144.

Releasing data compiled till Friday morning, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said 10 states accounted for 71.16% of the new Covid-19 recoveries; Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala lead this list.

Similarly, 10 states reported 72.37% of the new cases in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra reported the highest daily new cases at 42,582, followed by Kerala with 39,955 while Karnataka reported 35,297 new cases.

According to the latest Covid-19 numbers, the National Mortality Rate currently stands at 1.09% with 4,000 deaths being reported in the last 24 hours.

Ten states account for 72.70% of the new deaths. Maharashtra saw the maximum casualties at 850; Karnataka follows with 344 daily deaths.

The total number of Covid-19 tests conducted in India stands at over 31 crore.

While the cumulative positivity rate has now marginally increased to 7.72%, the daily positivity rate has come down marginally to 20.08%.
