Naval hospitals have also been opened up to civilians in various cities

Medical personnel in the Indian Navy have been redeployed at various locations in the country to manage Covid-19 duties during the ongoing pandemic.

The Indian Navy has reached out to all state administrations and offered help in terms of hospital beds as well as transportation, Chief of Naval Staff Admial Karambir informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.

During a review of Covid-19 related initiatives by the Indian Navy, Admiral Singh apprised the Prime Minister about naval hospitals being opened for use of civilians in various cities.

Naval personnel were being provided Battle Field Nursing Assistant Training to be deployed in Covid duties, the Navy Chief informed Prime Minister Modi.

The Navy Chief also briefed PM Modi on the Indian Navy's initiatives to help increase oxygen availability in Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

In addition to this, the Indian Navy is also transporting Oxygen containers & other supplies from Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait & Singapore to India.
