The Health Ministry noted that India’s figure for deaths per million population is 109

Maintaining a streak of reporting very low daily new cases, India has recorded only 18,139 new positive Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

“The steady fall in the new cases has ensured the contraction of the Total Active Cases,” the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in a statement.

The active caseload of the country stands at 2,25,449 on Friday. This has led to the shrinking of Active Cases in the total Positive Cases to 2.16 percent, said the statement.

Of the total active cases observed in the last 24 hours, 81.22 percent are from 10 states and Union Territories (UTs).

Kerala continues to report the highest daily new cases at 5,051 followed by Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh with 3,729 and 1,010 new cases, respectively.
