The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) says tests are being conducted at nearly 1,500 laboratories

India has crossed the milestone of testing 1 million people for COVI19 even as the country’s recovery rate rose by 100% since last week.

“More than 10 lakh people tested in the last 24 hours,” the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in a tweet, according to a report by Hindustan Times. The ministry added thah over the last few days, the government was close to conducting 900,000 tests.

Approximately 1500 laboratories have conducted the COVID19 tests and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is also looking to upgrade the tests and check more parameters.

The report further states that the highest number of single day recovery has been recorded on Friday, which is 62,282. The total number of recovered people stands at 21.5 lakhs.

The Health Ministry also added that important measures have been taken by the government to control the spread of the virus and including that of treating a patient under home isolation.
