Gyms and yoga centres have been directed to have a gap of 15 to 30 minutes between batches

As India enters unlock 3 on August 5, the government has given green signal to gymnasiums and yoga institutes to open with norms and arrangements of safety and social distance in place, Hindustan Times has reported. The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that the fitness centres falling in containment zones will remain closed.

Spas, sauna, swimming pools and steam baths will not open on August 5.

People above the age of 65, pregnant women, children below the age of 10 and people with co-morbid conditions will not be allowed to use these services in closed centres, the report suggested. According to the HT report, these gyms and yoga centres have been directed to have a gap of 15 to 30 minutes between batches. The time can be used for the disinfection of the machines.

The HT report suggests that owners and managers of these fitness centres have been asked by the MHA to create separate pathways for entry and exit. Besides that, they have been advised to place their machines and equipment at a distance of 6 feet, HT reported.

Apart from that, thermal screening of each person to be made mandatory at the entry points. As per the report published in Hindustan Times, people have been advised to keep a distance of at least 6 feet all the time. Gyms and Yoga Centres have been advised to make necessary arrangements at parking lots, elevators and other places used by the public.

According to the HT report, the administrations of these centres need to maintain details of all check-ins and check-outs for security purposes.
