Hospitals under strain in Delhi, Mumbai

Hospitals in Delhi have come under strain with the high number of confirmed coronavirus cases. Amid reports of patients who tested positive for Covid-19 being turned away from hospitals, the Delhi government launched an app on June 2 to give the status of available beds and ventilators in Delhi ventilators.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday appealed to people not to visit a hospital unless it was very essential. The appeal is intended to reduce the rush at hospitals in Delhi.

Hospitals in Maharashtra, particularly in Mumbai, too have been witnessing a rush of patients displaying symptoms of coronavirus or persons who have tested positive for the infection.
