The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Sunday accorded sanction to the appointment of Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, retired IPS officer and former DG of the CRPF, as Advisor to Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir..

The Advisor, according to communication from MHA, shall assist the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the effective discharge of his functions.

The appointment will be effective from the date on which he assumes charge.
