Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu today chaired an officers meeting to discuss the modalities for implementation of ambitious “Mission Youth” programme in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

BVR Subrahmanyam, Chief Secretary, Arun Kumar Mehta, Financial Commissioner, Sheetal Nanda, Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Sarmad Hafeez, Administrative Secretary, Youth Services and Sports Department, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Chief Executive Officer, Mission Youth, besides other senior officers of concerned departments were present in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Lt. Governor directed the concerned officers to promote youth centric programmes including sports activities to empower the youth through awareness, education and positive engagement.

He also asked to develop Youth Centres at district levels and constitution of Advisory Board for “Mission Youth”at district and block levels.

He stressed on the screening of educational, motivational movies and documentaries to the youth at various parts of Jammu and Kashmir besides regular Community engagements for better results.
