The campus will create an improved environment for learning and contribute to the development of the education in this area
As part of India's ongoing efforts to improve education infrastructure, the foundation stone for a new school campus was ceremonially laid in Nepal's Doti district on March 11, 2024.
 
Construction of the Shree Kedar Jyotipunja Multiple Campus School Building is being funded by the Government of India with a budget of NRs.28.90 million. This initiative is part of the High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP), a key element of the Nepal-India Development Cooperation. 
 
The event was graced by the presence of notable figures such as Bhairav Bahadur Saud, Chairman of Badikedar Rural Municipality, and Prashant Kumar Sona, Second Secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, illustrating the bilateral commitment to blending educational excellence with infrastructure in the region.
 
The construction of this campus signifies a landmark endeavour aimed at not just erecting a building but laying the foundation for a brighter educational future. The project envisions a double-storied academic structure equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
 
Once the construction of this campus building is completed, this new infrastructure will help to provide better education facilities for the students of Shree Kedar Jyotipunja Multiple Campus and would create an improved environment for learning and contribute to the development of the education in this area.  
 
Bilateral Solidarity
 
The initiative confirms the Indo-Nepal partnership, echoing a shared vision for progress and development. Bhairav Bahadur Saud, in his remarks, commended the unwavering support of the Government of India in strengthening the educational sector and overall upliftment of the Nepalese populace. This project enlightens the profound camaraderie and collaboration that thrive between the two nations, aiming to transcend traditional boundaries through the empowerment of education.
 
This initiative is emblematic of the commitment to enhancing the quality of education, directly contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.
 
A Legacy of Development and Cooperation
 
India's involvement in Nepal's developmental journey is long-standing, with over 550 HICDPs initiated since 2003, out of which 488 have reached fruition. The Sudurpashcum Province, and specifically Doti District, have been focal points of these developmental endeavours, with multiple projects aimed at advancing the educational, healthcare, and infrastructural framework. 
 
Over the years, the Indian government has also donated 974 ambulances and 234 school buses by the Government of India the occasion of Independence Day and Republic Day of India 
 
Amongst these, 60 Ambulances and 20 School Buses have been gifted in Sudurpashcum Province, which includes 8 ambulances and 2 school buses provided in Doti District. 
 
As close neighbours, India and Nepal share wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects the continued support of the Government of India in bolstering the efforts of the Government of Nepal in upliftment of its people, augmenting infrastructure in the field of priority sector especially in the education sector in Nepal, the Indian Embassy said.
