Prime Minister Modi describes the year as one of “limitless achievements”
In his latest 'Mann Ki Baat' address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized India's remarkable progress, marking it as a year of "limitless achievements." The 107th episode of this influential radio program, aired on November 26, 2023, not only served as a platform for the Prime Minister to connect with the nation but also to reflect on significant milestones and challenges faced by the country.

A TRIBUTE TO 26/11 VICTIMS AND CONSTANCY AGAINST TERRORISM

Prime Minister Modi paid homage to the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, acknowledging the 15th anniversary of this tragic day. He recalled the harrowing events when 10 Pakistani terrorists launched a series of brutal attacks across Mumbai, resulting in the loss of 166 lives, including 18 security personnel, and leaving numerous others injured. The attacks targeted iconic locations such as the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, the Oberoi Trident, the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower, and the Leopold Cafe.

PM Modi praised the resilience and spirit of India, stating, "We can never forget November 26. It was on this day that the most heinous terrorist attack took place in the country. Terrorists had shaken Mumbai and the entire country. But it is India’s capability that we recovered from that attack and now we are also crushing terrorism with full courage."

CONSTITUTION DAY AND INDIA'S DEMOCRATIC ETHOS

Significantly, November 26 also marks the day in 1949 when the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution of India. Prime Minister Modi reflected on this historical moment, linking it to the celebration of Constitution Day. He recalled the 125th birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar in 2015, which inspired the idea of celebrating November 26 as Constitution Day. The Prime Minister's emphasis on the Constitution underlines his commitment to democracy and the rule of law, core values that define India's ethos.

ECONOMIC ACHIEVEMENTS AND THE VOCAL FOR LOCAL INITIATIVE

Highlighting India's economic strides, PM Modi shared that business transactions worth around ₹4 lakh crore were recorded during the recent festival season, showcasing a growing enthusiasm for made-in-India products.

This surge is attributed to the 'Vocal for Local' campaign, which encourages Indians to support local businesses and products. Delhi State Haj Chairperson Kausar Jahan remarked on the Prime Minister's appeal to follow this initiative, especially during the wedding season, as a means to bolster national development.

The Prime Minister also touched upon the trend of families organizing weddings abroad, urging citizens to hold such celebrations within India. This approach not only promotes domestic tourism but also reflects a sense of national pride and economic responsibility.

NATIONWIDE ENDEAVOURS AND INSPIRATIONAL EFFORTS

During his address, PM Modi also spoke about the establishment of 'Mera Yuva Bharat', a major nationwide organization, on October 31, coinciding with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary. He highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu and acknowledged the efforts of author Sivashankri in her project 'Knit India, Through Literature'.

The Prime Minister's focus on 'Water Security' as a critical challenge of the 21st century further demonstrated his commitment to tackling environmental issues. He emphasized the importance of water conservation, equating it with saving lives.

The speech was also responsible for the national connectivity of its outreach evidenced by prominent leaders and citizens across the country tuning in to the broadcast. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, BJP leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad, Vijay Kumar Sinha, and National President JP Nadda were among those who engaged with the program, reflecting its significance in the national discourse.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's regular broadcasts serve as a key platform for him to directly engage with and address the concerns, achievements, and aspirations of the Indian people. These sessions allow for a two-way dialogue, fostering a sense of connection and transparency between the government and its citizens.

Through these addresses, the Prime Minister shares insights on national and international affairs, celebrates cultural and historical milestones, and encourages the participation of the general public in various national initiatives. This platform plays a significant role in shaping public opinion and policy direction by providing a direct line of communication from the highest level of government to the grassroots.

This episode, in particular, encapsulated a blend of remembrance, celebration, and a forward-looking vision. It reaffirmed the nation's capability to overcome adversity, the importance of upholding democratic values, and the collective responsibility towards economic development and environmental conservation. As India continues on its trajectory of growth and achievement, the Prime Minister's words echo a sense of pride and optimism for the future.
