EAM Jaishankar's visit will give a new impetus to the friendly ties between the two countries, says MEA
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar (EAM) will be in the United Kingdom from November 11-15, 2023 on an official visit that is expected to provide further momentum to bilateral ties between the two nations. 
 
During his visit, EAM Jaishankar will hold discussions with his counterpart Foreign Secretary James Cleverly and will meet several other dignitaries, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Saturday (November 11, 2023).
 
EAM Jaishankar's visit will give a new impetus to the friendly ties between the two countries, the MEA said.
 
Comprehensive Strategic Partnership 
 
India and the UK have a growing bilateral partnership.

The India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was launched in 2021 along with the India-UK Roadmap 2030. The roadmap is a commitment to a partnership that delivers for both the countries. 

Roadmap 2030 envisages revitalized and dynamic connections between the people; re-energised trade, investment and technological collaboration that improves the lives and livelihoods of the citizens; enhanced defence and security cooperation that brings a more secure Indian Ocean Region and Indo-Pacific and India-UK leadership in climate, clean energy and health that acts as a global force for good.
 
Greater collaboration in several key areas, including defence as well as critical and emerging technologies, was discussed at the inaugural India-UK 2+2 Foreign and Defence Dialogue held in New Delhi on October 16, 2023. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the two countries.

The 2+2 dialogue at the level of senior officials is a mechanism to discuss and review all aspects of the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
