The US NSA said President Biden is looking forward to meeting Prime Minister Modi at the G20 this year

Prior to a likely bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G-20 conference in Bali, Indonesia, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan has described US President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's relationship as produxtive and extremely practical.

Responding to a question during a media briefing at the White House on Thursday, US National Security Advisor (NSA) Jake Sullivan said, "I would point out Prime Minister Modi has already been to the White House since President Biden took office, and the two of them have had the opportunity to meet in person multiple times and to talk by phone and on video multiple times."

According to him, the two leaders share similar views on a number of crucial topics and have actively cooperated to advance the US-India relationship.

"When you add all that up, it is a productive, very practical relationship between these two leaders who see common interests on a number of critical issues and have really worked together to strengthen the U.S.-India partnership," he said.

"And President Biden is looking forward to seeing Prime Minister Modi at the G20 this year, as well as we look ahead to next year," he added.

He also addressed the possibility of the US President’s future visit to India, as India is going to hold the presidency of the G20 next year.

"President Biden certainly intends to be a participant in that G20. I don’t have anything to announce about visits prior to that, to India, or visits to the White House," he said.
