He will co-chair the 6th Australia-India Education Council meeting during the four-day visit

Union Minister of Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan is in Australia to deepen bilateral connections and investigate the links, interaction, and cooperative elements of education and skill development. He will co-chair the 6th Australia-India Education Council meeting during the four-day visit.

The purpose of Union Minister Pradhan's visit to Australia is to strengthen Indo-Austalian ties and to explore the connect, collaborate and cooperate aspect in education and skill development, the Ministry of Education said on Saturday.

Before leaving, Pradhan said that reforms in India’s education sector and the renewed vigour in India-Australia bilateral relations opens up immense opportunities for both sides to establish the knowledge economy as a key pillar of our cooperation.

He expressed his confidence that the tour will add momentum to the unity of purpose, help build trans-national knowledge bridges, further broaden our engagements at all levels in all areas of learning, skilling, research, innovation and entrepreneurship and deepen people-to-people connect.

During his visit, Pradhan will also engage with the Indian diaspora in Australia, the Ministry of Education said, releasing information about his schedule while in Australia.

On the second day of his visit on Monday, Pradhan will travel to the Western Sydney University (WSU) to co-chair the 6th Australia-India Education Council meeting with his Australian counterpart, Jason Clare.

Pradhan will also be visiting a school with Sarah Mitchell MLC, the NSW Minister for Education. In Sydney, he will also visit TAFE NSF and the University of New South Wales (UNSW), where he will meet with their respective vice chancellors and top Department of Education of Australia officials.

The Minister will visit Deakin University and the Kangan Institute in Melbourne on August 23. He will interact with academics, key figures in the Australian education and skills ecosystem, and members of the active Indian diaspora living in Melbourne.

Additionally, Pradhan will communicate virtually with Brendan O'Connor, MP, Minister of Skills and Training.

The following day, he will conduct a dialogue with the Group of Eight on creating a fruitful Australia-India research partnership. He will also participate in the Australian Indian Chamber of Commerce and Monash University will host a dialogue. The Minister will afterwards engage in conversation with the Indian students in Melbourne.
