Make in India, Make for the World is our new mantra, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said

The government's objective is to turn India into a net exporter of military hardware in the future, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday, adding that the Department of Defence Production's new motto is "Make in India, Make for the World."

Addressing a gathering in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Singh stated that India has advanced to take a spot among the top 25 defence exporters in the world as a result of the steps the government has taken in recent years. He was speaking after unveiling the statue of illustrious Marwari warrior Veer Durgadas Rathore.

According to Singh, the government has put in place a foolproof security system to make sure that no anti-Indian element can cast a shadow over the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of the nation.

Emphasizing that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi places a high priority on the safety and security of the Indian people, he said that the nation was guaranteed that anybody attempting to disturb the peace and harmony in the nation would receive a proper response.

While asserting that the government is prepared to face any threats in the future and defend national interests, he stated that the newest weaponry and systems are being provided to the Armed Forces.

In order to create a robust military, the defence minister emphasised the significance of achieving self-reliance in defence production. He added that the ministry of defence has implemented a number of reforms to produce indigenous weapons and platforms for the armed forces under the "Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan."

He continued by listing some of the changes, such as allocating 25% of the domestic capital procurement budget for the private sector and earmarking 68% of the budget for capital purchases for the domestic industry in 2022–2023, respectively.
