PM Modi and Phillipines Ferdinand Marcos Jr discussed bilateral ties during a phone call

Philippines plays an important role in India’s Act East Policy and its Indo-Pacific Vision, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Phillipines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr during a phone call on Friday.

Prime Minister Modi congratulated him on his recent election as the 17th President of the Phillipines and assured him of India’s full support in his plans and projects for Philippines’ development.

According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Prime Minister Modi reiterated the important role that Philippines plays in India’s Act East Policy and its Indo-Pacific Vision, and expressed the desire to further expand bilateral relations.

The two leaders reviewed various areas of bilateral engagement, and expressed satisfaction at the rapid growth of cooperation between the two countries in recent years, the PMO added.
