The top Omani defence official is on a visit to India

Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane on Tuesday met Mohammed Bin Nasser Bin Ali Al-Zaabi, Secretary General, Ministry of Defence, Sultanate of Oman and discussed ways to strengthen the bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries.

A tweet by the Additional Directorate General of Public Information, IHQ of MoD (Army) said that Al-Zaabi called on Chief of Army Staff Gen Naravane.

“H.E. Dr. Mohammed Bin Nasser Bin Ali Al-Zaabi, Secretary General, Ministry of Defence, Sultanate of #Oman called on General MM Naravane #COAS and discussed ways to strengthen the bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries,” said the tweet.

The top Omani defence official is on a visit to India during which on Monday he held extensive talks with Indian Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar in the 10th Joint Military Coordination Committee (JMCC) meeting.

The talks focused on expanding bilateral defence and strategic ties, a tweet by Defence Secretary Kumar said.

“Had very warm and friendly disc today during 10th JMCC meeting with HE Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Zaabi, Secretary General Defence of Oman and Omani delegation and worked out plan for deeper defence cooperation,” Kumar tweeted.

On Monday, Al-Zabbi also called on Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari and discussed ways to deepen cooperation between air forces of the two countries.

“Dr. Mohammed Nasser Ali Al Zaabi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence #Oman called on Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari #CAS today,” said a tweet by the Indian Air Force Media Coordination Centre.

“Avenues to enhance #IAF & #RAFO bilateral military engagement and training cooperation were discussed,” the Indian Air Force tweeted.
