India has been at the forefront of global counter-terrorism efforts and as such it does not see any contradiction between countering terrorism and promotion and protection of human rights
India has so far contributed more than US $ 1 million to the UN Trust fund for Counterterrorism Fund, including for Africa, the country's Permanent Representative to the UN TS Tirumurti said.
On Wednesday, India offered US $ 500,000 to the UN Trust Fund for Counter-Terrorism. This was revealed by the Indian mission at the UN in New York in a tweet reiterating that the country is keen to work with the UN body against terrorism.

Underlining that terrorism is an attack against human rights, India said it has been at the forefront of global counter-terrorism efforts and does not see any contradiction between countering terrorism and promotion and protection of human rights.
