He is visiting at the invitation of Nepal Communist Party leader and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel

In yet another move to strengthen political, diplomatic and strategic relations between India and Nepal, BJP’s foreign affairs cell in-charge, Vijay Chauthaiwala made a visit to the Himalayan nation and met the country's Foreign Minister Pradeep Gywali on Friday.

He had called on Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli on Thursday. Tweeting about this development, he wrote: “Honoured to call on Rt. Hon. PM @kpsharmaoli ji today. It's pleasure to be in Kathmandu on the invitation of General Secretary of Nepal Communist Party and Finance Minister Shri Bishnu Paudel ji. @bpaudel1959 @IndiaInNepal,” Chauthaiwale said in a tweet.

Nepal Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, who is said to have extended the invitation to the BJP leader, was also present at the meeting.

The BJP leader's visit follows a series of high-level visits from India in recent weeks. Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardan Shringla visited Nepal at the end of November and held talks with PM Oli and other senior leaders.

Earlier in November, Indian Army chief General M M Naravane traveled to Nepal on a three-day visit during which he held talks with top leadership. His visit was largely aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between both sides

RAW chief Samant Kumar Goel visited Nepal in October and paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Oli.

India and Nepal have a longstanding bilateral relationship, which is furthered by the high-level visits from both sides.
