Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Putin share warm and cordial relations between them

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday spoke on phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin and conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to him on the occasion of his birthday.

Tweeting about it, he said, “Spoke to my friend President Vladimir Putin to greet him on his birthday today. Appreciated his immense personal personal contribution to strengthening the Special & Privileged Strategic Partnership between India and Russia.”


Prime Minister recalled his long association and friendship with Vladimir Putin, and appreciated the personal role that the latter has played in nurturing the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between the two nations.

Both leaders agreed to remain in touch over the coming days, including on the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Prime Minister expressed his keenness to welcome President Putin in India, as soon as possible after the normalisation of the public health situation. Both Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Putin share warm and cordial relations between them.

On September 18, Putin had made a telephonic call to Prime Minister Modi and conveyed greetings on the occasion of his birthday. Prime Minister Modi had thanked President Putin for his personal commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with India.
