In a scathing reply to Pakistan’s baseless accusations regarding human rights violations against India at the United Nations Human Rights Council, India said that Pakistan’s ‘vile accusations,’ cannot suffocate the voice of minorities. A report published in The Times of India also pointed out Pakistan for delisting 4,000 terrorists to sustain its ecosystem of terror within the country and abroad.

First Secretary with Indian Permanent Mission in Geneva, Pawan Badhe said, “The fate of religious and ethnic minorities is well known when beheading is the only option in Pakistan in exchange for freedom of religion.”

Exercising India’s right to reply, Pawan Badhe highlighted Pakistan’s ‘deceit and hypocrisy’ and said that Pakistan has been carrying out human rights violations at various places in its own territory. The violations in past several years have been extended to the territories of other nations.

According to the report, Badhe said that the best example of this was the mass influx to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh through discriminatory domicile laws.

“It’s baffling that there are three outsiders for every 4 in the Pakistan-occupied parts of Indian Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. While civil, political and constitutional rights are non-existent in Pakistan-occupied parts of Indian Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, deliberate economic policies have also subjugated them to a life of extreme poverty,” the official said.

He said that instead of rectifying the wrongs done, Pakistan is busy escalating full-scale training camps and launch pads of terrorists in Pakistan-occupied parts of Indian Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh at great expense for sustaining cross border terrorism against India.

“It’s not without reason that Pakistan remains a safe harbour for terrorists. While the world is busy combating the Covid-19 pandemic, Pakistan hoodwinks the world to allow delisting more than 4000 proscribed terrorists to sustain its terror ecosystem” he said, according to the report.

The official further said that Pakistan’s increasing persecution of minorities, especially Ahmadis in its own territories has been time and again called out by the international community.

“Children as young as 12 years old in Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh are normally abducted and trained to be suicide bombers,” he said.

Badhe, as per The Times of India report, said that in these regions, Pakistan has been enabling enforced disappearances of women, children, activists and government critics.
