The Indian Army is ready to deal with any situation and is very much vigilant at the Line of Actual Control (LAC), Army Chief General MM Naravane has said.

Gen Naravane, according to a report in The Tribune, said soldiers on the border had high morale and were ready to deal with any situation and make the army and the country proud. This is a clear warning for China that any misadventure would have an equal or more response waiting for it.

The Army Chief was visiting Ladakh to review operational preparedness amid the continuing standoff with the Chinese PLA troops.

On Thursday, Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat had said that the armed forces were capable of dealing with a two-front situation, alluding to the China-Pakistan nexus and the anticipation that the duo may open fronts against India from their respective sides, said the report.

During his two-day visit to Ladakh, which commenced on Thursday, Gen Naravane interacted with all the ranks at some of the frontline locations close to the LAC, to know the jawans’ morale and how they would deal with the situation in the eventuality of China increasing its aggression. On the night of August 29 and 30, as per the report, China once again attempted to intrude into the Indian territory in the southern bank of Pangong Tso.
